Below are some frequently asked questions:

  1. Can I attend the conferences even though I am not a member of TheCorporateCounsel.net or CompensationStandards.com?
    • Yes, anyone can attend the conferences!
  2. When will you know what days the conferences will be held and who will be speaking at the conferences?
    • The conferences will be held on September 20th, 21st, and 22nd by live video webcast (and archived if you have a conflict on any of those dates).
    • You can view our list of who will be speaking at the conference. – Coming Soon
  3. What are the differences between the 2023 Proxy Disclosure Conference on September 20-21 and the 20th Annual Executive Compensation Conference on September 22?
    • The 2023 Proxy Disclosure Conference is a two-day conference that focuses on how to use the annual reporting season to not only accurately disclose your results and comply with SEC disclosure requirements, but also communicate your ESG, human capital and executive compensation story. This event is a must for anyone involved with drafting or reviewing proxy disclosures.
    • The 20th Annual Executive Compensation Conference is an intensive one-day conference that focuses on how to put your best foot forward for Say-on-Pay and equity plans, and how to implement responsible executive compensation practices. The event will impart guidance on how to draft and review proxy compensation disclosures — but there also will be guidance on a wider variety of practices, such as what compensation committees should be doing now.
  4. Can I pay for just one of the conferences if I don’t want to attend both?
    • The 2023 Proxy Disclosure and 20th Annual Executive Compensation Conferences are a three-day event — Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, September 20-22 — that are bundled together for registration and pricing. We make the 20th Annual Executive Compensation Conference available to anyone who registers for the 2023 Proxy Disclosure Conference, because it is rare those involved in proxy disclosure drafting and review would not also significantly benefit from guidance about compensation committee governance and responsible pay practices.
  5. What are the benefits of getting a firmwide license for the conferences?
    • With the stakes so high now for those involved with drafting proxy disclosures and establishing pay practices, many companies and law firms are taking advantage of the firmwide license for the live video webcast. This allows your staff and outside directors to access the conferences from any location. Even if you’ve already purchased a single user or single location license, you can still upgrade to a firmwide license and receive a credit for any money you already paid.
  6. If I plan to watch the conference by video webcast, what type of equipment and connection will I need?
    • You will need one of the following players to access the video webcast HTML5. Click here to check your system settings. The HTML5 player is supported by most web browsers.
    • You need approximately 600k of continuous incoming bandwidth to view a panel through a 500k link. If that high level of bandwidth is not available for you, your player will either not open or will continuously buffer (i.e., freeze). If you experience this type of problem, it is highly recommended that you switch to a 300k link to watch the video. Test your internet speed here.
    • We recommend using an updated version of a Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browser to view the conference platform.
    • If you are still unable to access the event, contact your IT department.
  7. How do I access the video archives of the conferences?
    • Information for how to access the conference archives is coming soon. The archives will be available until September 20, 2024.

Members of TheCorporateCounsel.net and CompensationStandards.com can post in our Q&A forums on those sites at any time and those posts can be anonymous.
