Ruth Umoh is an Editor at Fortune, overseeing its executive leadership and management coverage. She previously was the Editor-in-Chief of The Filament, a news source for DEI leaders in tech. A veteran business journalist, she served as Forbes’ D&I Editor and was a CNBC reporter covering leadership strategy, corporate management and equity issues. Ruth Umoh held producer roles at Rolling Stone and New York Daily News, where she covered breaking news and politics. She’s a graduate of the University of Maryland and received a master’s degree from Columbia University’s Journalism School. She was one of 10 awardees for MIT Sloan’s 2018 Digital Leadership seminar. In 2021, she was named one of the top 15 journalists who hold companies accountable for diversity.

About This Session:

Session 2: Understanding & Using Equity Audits and Civil Rights Audits

About This Session:

In this workshop, we explore the different audits organizations can engage to assess their workforce, culture, business and social impact. We will touch on pay equity audits and the progress organizations have made since pay equity gained momentum. We also will discuss racial equity and civil rights audits as audits currently are on the rise in some companies and increasingly on the radar for investors and boards.
